Unterwegs auf dem Padjelantaleden ...

Tage 10-11 Tarraluoppal

Am Dienstagmorgen machen wir uns auf den Weg nach Såmmarlappa - Wind von vorn, Schneetreiben, mangelnde Sicht machen uns zu schaffen. Nach 4, 5 km brechen wir ab und kehren um.

Die Hütten von Tarraluoppal in Sicht - mit dem Wind im Rücken kommen wir schnell zurück. 

Back to the huts we used the hjälptelefon to get a weather report for the next day:

Hello, this is Michael speaking from Tarraluoppal stuga. 

Hello Michael, are you in some kind of trouble? Over.

No, no, this is not an emergency call. But we would like to get a weather report for tomorrow. It's fairly windy up here. We wanted to get to Såmmarlappa today. But had to return due to wind and snow. Over.

Hang on a minute. ... We got into contact with local authorities. There is a high wind (16 m/s) warning for the area for the next two days. You'd better stay at the hut. How many are you? Over.

That's bad news. We are three Germans. Over.

What about your equipment? Do you have enough food? Over.

We are fully equipped for a winter tour. There is also food for three days. 

That's good to hear. You can call us back tomorrow. Over.

Ein weiterer Anruf am Mittwoch macht alle Hoffnung zunichte.  Der Wind dreht am frühen Morgen um 180 Grad auf WNW und sorgt in der Hütte für ein beständiges lautes, vernehmliches Brummen. Immer wieder wird die Gasheizung ausgeblasen. Aber ... man hat ja sonst nichts zu tun. ;)

Draußen scheint die Sonne diffus durch die Wolken, die anderen Hütten liegen in der Schneedrift. In der Nacht auf Donnerstag legt der Sturm noch einmal kräftig zu. Ich traue mich nachts nur wenige Schritte aus der Hütte.

Der Sturm formt eine stehende Welle neben der Hütte.
